Tewkesbury Open Meet on 22 June

Forest Of Dean Swimming Club went to the 50m Tewkesbury Meet on Sunday and novice 25m races at midday. A great Meet for all our swimmers,  Everyone came away with medals or personal best times in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Well done everyone.

A successful Forest of Dean Open Meet

We had 41 swimmers from our Club took part in our first FOD Open Meet on 24 and 25 May who were joined by swimmers from Bristol & South Glos, Brockworth, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Rhondda, Swindon and Tewkesbury Clubs.

Our swimmers achieved 23 gold, 29 silver, 23 bronze medals, over 100 personal best times and 27 new times .

The great organisation was commented on, the friendly atmosphere and the warm welcome.  Well done to everyone involved, and thank you to the officials from the other Clubs who helped on the weekend.

Cotswold League Round 4 on 5 April 2025

The final round of the Cotswold League Galas before the final in Pontypool was held at GL1 hosted by Severnside. The results can be found on our noticeboards.

Despite a couple of our swimmers competing at Bristol, the rest of the team put up a valient effort accruing 17 PBs, 2 new times 5 x 1st places and 12 x 2nd places between them. Some swimmers swam out of their age group to help out their teammates as well as swimming their own races.

Well done to everyone on the night, swimmers, officials, coaches team managers and to the enthusiastic flag wavers.

The finals of the Cotswold League will be held on 26th April at Pontypool.

Junior League Gala 8 March 2025

Participating Clubs; Cirencester, Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury and Gloucester.

The Junior League Galas aim to provide a relaxed and healthy competitive environment for developing swimmers, and improve support and networking across clubs in the north of the County.

  • FODSC hosted the first gala which took place at 8 March. 34 swimmers competed for FODSC with 7 new to competition, so well done everyone. The results can be found on our noticeboards at the pools.
  • The final results were FODSC 158, Cirencester 143, Tewkesbury 116 and Gloucester 101 points. But more important was the enthusiasm and enjoyment had by all the teams in a friendly atmosphere. The cheering was off the scale on many occasions and we are looking forward to the next gala on 29 March at Cirencester.

Cotswold League Gala Round 2 on 1st February

Team spirit was alive and kicking at the Cotswold League Round 2 Gala with Forest of Dean Swimmers coming joint 2nd with Cheltenham, with Clevedon winning. Well done everyone who journeyed to Hutton Moor to compete, officate, volunteer and cheer on the team.

The next Cotswold League is at GL1 Gloucester on Saturday 1st March.

New Members Welcome

If you are a competent swimmer and are thinking what next – why not come for a free session to see if Swimming Club is for you.

Sessions are available for Stage 5 and above, swimmers can train 3 times a week from just £38.00 per month.

County Championships 2025

The County Championships have finished for 2025. Swimming at Hengrove LC Pool in Bristol and the GL1 pool in Gloucester, our swimmers in the individuals and relays showed what all that hard work can achieve.

Nia achieved 7 finals from 50 Breast to 200 Butterfly, Daisy finaled in 100 Breast and 100 IM, Morgan in 50 Butterfly and 100 IM and Thomas in 200 Free.

Tobias, Florence and Harriet all finaled in 50 and 100 Back, Harriet took 6th place in both the 400 and 800 free, Thomas took 3rd and 4th place in the 800 and 400 free.

Special mention to 9 year old George who was first reserve in the 11 and under 50 Back and to 9 year old Beatrice also competing were Emily, Penelope, Flora, Imy, Chase, Toby, Julian, Artur, Charlie and Oscar.

The relays were held at GL1 with FODSC entering 12 events and competing in 7 finals. Well done to Ella, Grace, Tilly, Molly, Morgan, Chase, Tobias, George, Lilly-Ann, Penelope, Flora, Florence, Julian Oscar, Charlie, Lola, Lottie, Amelie, Jessi, Nia, Daisy, Mille and Libby.

As well as well done to the swimmers, THANK YOU to all our officials, poolside staff and volunteers who helped in any way at the Counties, The competition results can be found on our noticeboard at Cinderford Pool.
